Long is a forecasting analyst at Synergy, Western Australia's leading energy supplier. His work involves electricity demand and revenue modelling for the WA State Budget Forecast, aligning with market developments, and identifying pricing optimization opportunities that benefit customers.

He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Commerce from Victoria University of Wellington. His research on energy economics, trade, and international finance has been published in high-impact energy journals and general-interest economics journals.

Long believes in the power of research collaboration, sharing best practices, and public-private partnerships to promote the advancement of SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). His goal is to accelerate the clean energy transition and trade between Australia and Vietnam as part of the renewed strategic bilateral relationship through innovation and entrepreneurship.

Outside of work, Long is passionate about hiking and travel, inspired by Oceania nature and people.
