Dakshina is originally from Nepal. Dakshina has an honours degree in B.Sc. Agriculture and a master's degree in environmental management from Charles Darwin University.

Currently, Dakshina is working as a horticulture research scientist at the Department of Industry, Tourism, and Trade, Northern Territory (NT). She is an early-stage scientist developing her skills in tropical horticulture. Her expertise includes tissue culture, post-harvest evaluation of tropical fruits, feasibility studies of new emerging crops in the NT, and other research activities.

Dakshina is inspired by her mother, whose resilience and kindness, despite numerous hardships, have taught her the importance of perseverance and empathy.

Through AVYLD, Dakshina’s goal is to foster strong bilateral relations between Australia and Vietnam by promoting sustainable development, cultural understanding, and economic collaboration. Dakshina aims to leverage this platform to address critical issues such as climate change, education, and inclusive economic growth, aligning with key Sustainable Development Goals.

Her life motto: “The only way we can succeed in life is by helping others become successful.”
