Louise Tran
First generation Australian born of Vietnamese heritage, AVYLD 2019 alumna Louise has worked in the Australian food rescue scene for more than a decade and is a leader in the social impact sector. Her desire to connect with, learn from and contribute to her Vietnamese heritage has led her to drive VietHarvest initiative to expand OzHarvest's model to impact even more lives.
Louise was responsible for the creation, ideas-generation, and execution of OzHarvest’s social business and innovation arm, ForPurposeCo., as well as the establishment of its first social enterprise initiative Juice For Good.
Inspired by OzHarvest's mission and model, she has teamed up with force for good, Jimmy Pham (who is also the Founder of KOTO Know One Teach One). Together, they co-created VietHarvest to create more goodness in Vietnam, saving good food from ending up as waste and feeding the underserved communities in Vietnam.
Louise’s Achievements
• Built the foundations of OzHarvest’s brand presence as Australia’s leading food rescue organisation. The OzHarvest model is now
adopted in New Zealand, the UK and South Africa.
• Implemented and executed several large-scale campaigns such as Think.Eat.Save, working in partnership with the UN’s Environment Program with further activities in Lima and Bangkok.
