Dr Cuong La
Bringing nearly three decades of expertise in academic research and project management to the field of public health and community development, Dr Cuong La has navigated diverse roles with esteemed organizations, including UN agencies, international bodies, and academic institutions in Vietnam. His focus centred on shaping policy and advocating for sexual and reproductive health, alongside HIV/AIDS prevention and control.
In Australia, his contributions extend to various community and health organizations in Melbourne. From serving as a senior advisor on primary prevention of men's violence against women to conducting action research and evaluation, his roles have been multifaceted. As a trainer/facilitator for community practice and a community health project manager, he is dedicated to advancing health equity and social justice.
His educational journey encompasses a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Hanoi Agricultural University (1996), a Masters in Human Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State University, USA (2005), and a PhD in Community Health from La Trobe University, Australia (2012).
